Students from three faculties of Habiganj Agricultural University achieved the prestigious honor of becoming champions at the final round of the international-standard environmental and climate competition “Haor Hackathon: Innovations in Climate Action 2026” held in Sylhet on Wednesday (March 11).
A total of 12 selected teams from different universities in the Sylhet division participated in the final round of the competition. It is a matter of great pride that three teams from Habiganj Agricultural University, representing the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Fisheries Science, and the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science, each secured the champion position in their respective categories.
The students’ innovative thinking, research-based perspectives, and practical solutions addressing the real-life livelihood challenges of people in the haor region played a significant role in achieving this success. This accomplishment stands as a bright example of the students’ talent, creativity, and research capability. 
The university authorities have extended their sincere congratulations to the winning students and their respected mentors, expressing hope that their innovative initiatives will play an important role in the sustainable development of the haor region and the improvement of people's quality of life in the future.
