Closing Session of the Workshop on Aligning Modular Curriculum and
Syllabi with BNQF Standards Held at Habiganj Agricultural University
The closing session of the two-day workshop titled “Aligning the Modular Curriculum and
Syllabi of Habiganj Agricultural University with the Bangladesh National Qualifications
Framework (BNQF) Standards” was held on Sunday (14 June) at 9:00 AM in Academic
Building-2 of Habiganj Agricultural University. The workshop was organized by the Institutional
Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university.
The closing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. ASM Golam Hafeez, Member of the
Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), as the Chief Guest. In his address, he stated that
ensuring competency-, qualification-, and learning outcome-based education has become
imperative in response to the evolving realities of global higher education. He emphasized the
importance of implementing the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) in
higher education institutions to develop internationally competent human resources.
The workshop was patronized by Professor Dr. Syed Sayeem Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of
Habiganj Agricultural University. In his closing remarks, he stated that aligning the university’s
academic activities with the BNQF would significantly contribute to enhancing educational
quality, achieving accreditation, and strengthening the university’s position in the global
academic arena. He also called upon all faculty members to work collectively towards improving
the quality of education and expressed his sincere appreciation to the resource persons,
distinguished guests, members of the organizing committee, and participating faculty members.
Later, faculty members from different faculties of the university participated in faculty-based
group discussions. The discussions reviewed the alignment of existing academic programmes,
modular curricula, and syllabi with the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF),
as well as learning outcome-based curriculum development, curriculum mapping, and
implementation strategies.
At the end of the programme, certificates were distributed among the resource persons and
participating faculty members. The participants expressed optimism that such initiatives would
play a significant role in ensuring quality and internationally recognized higher education at the
university.
