Surgical Kit Boxes Distributed Among First-Batch Veterinary Students at Habiganj Agricultural University 

Surgical kit boxes have been distributed among the first-batch students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at Habiganj Agricultural University (HAU). The “Surgical Kit Box Distribution Ceremony 2026” was held on Tuesday (1 September) at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room of the university. The event was organized by the Department of Clinical Sciences under the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, with sponsorship from the Veterinary Division of Navana Pharmaceuticals PLC. 

During the ceremony, surgical kit boxes were formally handed over to the first-batch students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science. The initiative is expected to play an important role in enhancing the students’ practical knowledge and skills while preparing them for their future professional careers. 

The programme was moderated by DR. Sharmin Sultana Royal, a faculty member of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science. At the beginning of the event, students from the university’s first batch of veterinary students shared their experiences, feelings, and expectations. 

Following this, Dr. Md. Mangur Morshed Chowdhury, Deputy Manager (SBMD-Vet) of Navana Pharmaceuticals PLC, delivered a visual presentation as the speaker. In his presentation, he highlighted the role of Navana Pharmaceuticals’ modern medicines and veterinary healthcare products in animal healthcare. He also expressed the company’s commitment to continuing its support for the students in education, research, and various sponsorship activities in the future. 

Md. Nurul Islam, District Livestock Officer of Habiganj, delivered a speech as a special guest. He expressed his firm commitment to supporting the veterinary students of Habiganj Agricultural University. He stated that the modern laboratories, veterinary hospital, and other necessary resources under the Habiganj District Livestock Office would remain accessible to the students to facilitate their practical education and research activities. 

Professor Dr. Mohammad Ismail Hossain, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Habiganj Agricultural University, was also present as a special guest. Welcoming the initiative, he highlighted the importance, scope, and prospects of the veterinary profession and extended his best wishes to the students. He urged them to develop themselves as skilled, competent, and compassionate veterinarians. 

In his speech as the chief guest, Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Hoque, Vice-Chancellor of Habiganj Agricultural University, appreciated the timely and student-oriented initiative and expressed his gratitude to the sponsoring organization, Navana Pharmaceuticals PLC. He said that medical care is not merely a commercial matter; rather, it is a noble commitment to serving humanity. He urged the students to rise above commercial considerations and continuously enhance their technical skills, professional knowledge, and competencies to become truly compassionate and ideal doctors. 

He further emphasized that practical skills are one of the fundamental pillars of professional excellence for a veterinarian. He said that acquiring proper knowledge of modern treatment methods and developing proficiency in the use of necessary medical equipment from the student stage would enable them to make significant contributions to animal health and livestock development in the future. 

The programme concluded with a closing address by DR. Md. Imran Hossain, Acting Chairman of the Department of Clinical Sciences. 

The organizers expressed the hope that practical support initiatives such as the distribution of surgical kit boxes would contribute significantly to enhancing the professional skills of the university’s first-batch veterinary students and further strengthen the quality of veterinary education and the academic advancement of Habiganj Agricultural University.
